- For kofta:1 cup paneer (cottage cheese)
- 1 cup boiled mashed potatoes
- 1/4 cup corn flour
- 1/2 tsp Grated ginger
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- For curry:
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 cloves
- 2 green cardamom
- 1 bay leaves
- 3-4 black pepper
- 1 onion
- 2 tometo
- 8-10 Cashews nuts
- 1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Garlic and ginger paste
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
- 2 tbsp fresh cream or malai
Steps to make Malai kofta
- For the kofta:mash together cottage cheese & boiled potatoes. Add ginger, corn flour, salt, roasted cumin seeds powder, Red chilli powder, garam masala. Mix them well and shape in to the round balls.



- Roll them in corn flour. Heat oil and deep fry till golden brown on medium flame and keep aside.



- For the curry:heat the oil add cumin seeds, cloves, cardomom and black pepper stir few seconds. Now add sliced onion and cook for 5 minutes. Add garlic, ginger and Cashews nuts and cook for 2 minutes.



- Now add chopped tomatoes and mix, and add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes.



- Add 1cup of water and cover till the tomatoes are mashy.


- Now turn on the gas and let it cool. Now using a blender blend it into a fine paste.


- Strain the puree and transfer it to a pan. Bring it to a boil and add sugar and salt to taste.


- Add cream stir and cook for 2 minutes and remove from heat.


- Place the kofta in a bowl and pour the hot curry on the top and cream. Serve with naan and tandoori roti.
