Malvani is a famous cuisine in Maharashtra. This is a Malvani style black chickpea curry. Tikhat dashmi means spicy paratha(spiced flatbread)

- For curry (usal)-150gm black chickpea
- As Required Oil
- 2 onion
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1 tomato
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- As Per Taste Salt
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- For dashami(spiced paratha)-
- 2 cups wheat flour
- As needed water to knead the dough
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- As per taste Salt
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 tsp white sesame seeds
- 1 tsp carom seeds
Steps to make Malvani Kala Chana Usal With Tikhat Dashami(Maharashtrian Style)
- First for preparing kala chana usal(curry)-
- Soak chana(chickpea) overnight in 1 glass of water
- Next day cook it in a pressure cooker by adding salt and turmeric powder till it turns soft or 4 whistles
- Meanwhile, make tadka for this- for this prepare a paste for this, roast 1 onion slice and coconut Slices by adding 1tbsp oil

- Roast till it turns aromatic and colour changes to golden brown
- After cooling, grind to smooth paste and keep aside

- Now turn off the flame, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves

- For making Dashami(paratha)-
- In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, white sesame seeds, carom seeds, chopped onion, and coriander leaves
- Combine everything well, gradually add water and make a soft dough
- Divide in six parts, now take a small part of the dough, roll like chapati
- Roast on hot tawa, by smearing oil or butter
- Roast both the sides till golden and crispy


- Serve hot Dashami (paratha) with chana usal(curry) along with yogurt and mango pickle
