- 200 grams sago pearls
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 1-2 green chillies finely sliced
- to taste Salt (optional in fasting)
- 150 grams peanuts
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 small potato par boiled
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Instructions to make Sabudaana Khichdi
- Soak the sago pearls for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight
- Drain off the water post soaking
- Peel and dice the par boiled potato
- Dry roast the raw peanuts
- Grind the peanuts fine
- Heat oil in a non stick pan
- Add the cumin seeds,chillies and curry leaves
- After the seeds splutter,add the par boiled potatoes and saute till they turn golden in colour
- Next add the gound peanut and mix well
- After the mix dries,add the sago and salt
- Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes
- Take off heat and serve right away
- Note: I do not like use of onions and coriander leaves in sabudaana khichdi.you can use them both
